How To Get Noticed In The Business World

How do you get noticed? And if you do get noticed, what was something that worked and something that didn’t work? We all want to get our name out there and be ‘known’, but the real question is – how?

Getting noticed and branching out in your community could be a huge benefit to you and your career. Becoming known or for people to become familiar with you and what you do isn’t just about marketing although that is a factor. If others in the business community are familiar with you, you will benefit in stronger and valuable business connections and networks that has the potential to last throughout your career. Getting noticed isn’t necessarily easy, but it’s definitely worth it.

Networking

Networking can include a few different strategies. There are constantly networking events in different communities, many of them public and many of them are private. However, taking the time to research the networking events happening around you and stopping in for an hour or so of mingling may help you in that first step of becoming noticed. A few things to remember for attending networking events:

  1. Bring business cards or something that will help others identify you.
  2. Dress appropriately depending on the dress code. Don’t overdo it, but don’t be too casual.
  3. Be confident. Others want to get to know you just as much as you want to get to know them.
